MERCEDES-BENZ - IAA 2013

A spacious stage with around 1,200 sqm of LED panels was the centrepiece during Mercedes Benz – ’The Future On The Road’ at the International Automobile Exhibition 2013. It comprised a roomy LED floor, and an LED ‘wall’ that was over 55 metres long, and almost 10 metres tall in places. Together, they created the stage set for a meticulously timed production in which real, moving vehicles and media feeds merged to form an overarching choreography.

The stars of the show were 15 premiere vehicles that drove onto the stage in a steady stream from a five-metre-high LED carwalk. Thanks to a tracking system, the media area always ’knew’ the vehicles’ position, and responded with special light effects. This precision interaction between motion design and vehicle movements generated a constant flow of new and surprising images to create once more the “Facination Mercedes”
